What is a commercial deep clean, and when do you need one?

A deep clean covers the tasks that regular cleaning rotates through slowly, or misses, all at once. Here is what is usually included and when it is worth booking.

Updated 22 October 2026 · Avenclear Cleaning

What a deep clean includes

  • High-level dusting: vents, light fittings, tops of cupboards and ledges
  • Skirting boards, door frames, radiators and switches
  • Kitchen appliances inside and out
  • Washroom descaling, grout and floor edges
  • Carpet extraction and hard-floor machine scrubbing
  • Internal glass, partitions and frames
  • Soft furnishings and chairs

When to book one

  • Before a new contract starts, so the regular team begins from a clean baseline
  • Moving in or out of premises
  • After building works or a fit-out
  • Before an inspection, a sale or an important visit
  • Once a year as a reset, often over a holiday period
  • After an illness outbreak, alongside any public health advice

How long it takes

A 3,000 sq ft office usually takes a team of three or four people one long shift. Larger sites are split over several nights or a weekend.

How it is priced

Deep cleans are usually quoted as a fixed price after a site visit or a review of photos and floor plans. See commercial cleaning costs.
